美国非裔女作家、社会活动家，普利策奖得主。1983年，她的长篇小说《紫颜色》以其独特的叙事手法和感人肺腑的故事，赢得普利策奖、美国国家图书奖等多个奖项，她也因此成为首位获得普利策文学奖的非裔美国女性。由该小说改编而成的同名电影，是美国电影史上第一部以黑人为题材的电影，共获11项奥斯卡奖提名。沃克长期关注与女性、种族相关的社会议题，并笔耕不辍，对世界女性主义文学的发展产生了重要影响。

Brief introduction of contents:
Alice Walker, the first African-American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Literature, published her first collection of short stories in 1973. This book contains 13 short stories, telling the story of black women in real life, marriage and family, race and faith, the shackles are still unable to restrain their desire to chase themselves. Through the stories of black women with different personalities and backgrounds, Walker presented the survival predicament faced by black women in the 20th century and the tenacious power to break through the difficulties, depicted the inner turmoil of women of "our mother's generation", broke through the stereotypes and prejudices, and formed a sharp contrast with the blind and obedient images of black women prevalent in black ethnic literature at that time. It has accumulated spiritual power for the next generation of black women to change their fate, marking a major change in black literature.
In addition, the short articles such as "Everyday Articles" included in the book have been included in the African American literature selection for many times, and are also classic works in the history of contemporary literature.

Author: Alice Walker (1944 -)
American writer, activist and Pulitzer Prize winner. In 1983, her novel The Color Purple, with its unique narrative techniques and touching story, won the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award and other awards, and she became the first African American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. The film adaptation of the novel was the first black film in American film history and was nominated for 11 Academy Awards. Walker has long been concerned about social issues related to women and race, and has been writing continuously, which has had an important impact on the development of feminist literature in the world.
