本书为中国作协、湖北省作协“孤寡老人生存状态调查项目”，旨在通过对福利院等场所的孤宿老人的走访采访，提炼出孤寡的成因，呈现孤宿老人的现状，引发社会各界的高度关注。在老龄化越来越明显的今天，孤宿老人的人生际遇、当下生存和精神状态，是极具社会价值的资料。

This is the case for the 54 elderly orphans in this book, who are now under the careful care of the civil affairs department and living a comfortable life, but their mental condition has become a relatively prominent problem. From their oral accounts, we can see that they all have a very rich life experience, are yearning for family life, full of yearning for family happiness, and have struggled and struggled for a long time after encountering the unfair treatment of fate.
