Andy is a "born guilty" philosophy teacher.
Every time he stepped into the security gate of the prison, the "executioner" in his mind would begin to stir. While lecturing in a prison full of violence, he was obviously out of order: he could not control the direction of the discussion, could not answer the students' questions, and was always involuntarily reminded of memories deep in his memory... In this struggle with the executioner, he uses philosophy as the key to open the mind world of the imprisoned body, to a deeper understanding of human nature, and finally to achieve self-redemption.
