著者简介
弗兰克·M.斯诺登（Frank M.Snowden），耶鲁大学安德鲁·唐尼·奥里克历史与医学史荣休教授，专长领域为社会史、医学史，以及意大利近代史等。其著作包括《意大利南部的暴力和大庄园：1900—1922年的阿普利亚》（1984）、《1919—1922年托斯卡纳的法西斯革命》（1989）、《霍乱时期的那不勒斯》（1995）、《征服疟疾：1900—1962年的意大利》（2006），以及《流行病与社会：从黑死病开始的瘟疫史》（2019）。《征服疟疾：1900—1962年的意大利》曾被美国历史协会授予“海伦与霍华德·R.马拉罗奖”，并荣获美国医学史协会颁发的韦尔奇奖章。
译者简介
季珊珊，南京大学历史学院世界史硕士，曾赴台湾师范大学、剑桥大学交流访问，研究方向为近代英国医疗社会史，发表文章《欧洲最早的医学院——萨莱诺医学院的兴衰》，译有《医学与种族：20世纪加拿大的印第安人医院》。
程璇，华东师范大学翻译系硕士，曾任联合国学术影响（UNAI）译者，参与《爱情与废墟》故事集、第十九届上海国际艺术节、上海科技大学影视项目等翻译工作。

Author profile
Frank M.Snowden is the Andrew Donnie Orrick Professor Emeritus of History and the History of Medicine at Yale University, specializing in social history, the history of medicine, and recent Italian history. His books include Violence and Grand Estates in Southern Italy: Apulia 1900-1922 (1984), The Fascist Revolution in Tuscany 1919-1922 (1989), Naples in the Time of Cholera (1995), and The Conquest of Malaria: Italy 1900-1962 (2006), and Epidemics and Society: A History of the Plague from the Black Death (2019). The Conquest of Malaria: Italy 1900-1962 was awarded by the American Historical Association "Helen and Howard R. Mararo Award "and received the Welch Medal from the American Medical History Association.
Translator's introduction
Ji Shanshan has a master's degree in World History from the School of History, Nanjing University. She has been to Taiwan Normal University and Cambridge University for exchange visits. Her research interests are the history of modern British medical society. She has published an article on the Rise and Fall of Salerno Medical School, the earliest medical school in Europe, and translated it into Medicine and Race: Indian Hospitals in Canada in the 20th Century.
Cheng Xuan has a master's degree in translation from East China Normal University. She has worked as a translator for the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and participated in the translation work of Love and Ruins, the 19th Shanghai International Art Festival, and the film and television project of Shanghai University of Science and Technology.
