【 Content Introduction 】
This is Friedrich A. Hayek's only autobiographical work and A quintessential biography of a thinker, showing how this perceptive and insightful thinker deeply involved and influenced the course of world history by combining his reflections on life, scholarship, and society with the pulse of the 20th century.
Hayek, once famous for the Road to Serfdom, was ignored by the academic world for more than 30 years because of Keynes's dominance in the field of economics. But with his remarkable contributions to the study of monetary policy and the business cycle, and his Nobel Prize in economics in 1974, he finally gained the academic reputation he deserved in his later years. With previously unpublished autobiographical notes and interviews, the book tells the story in Hayek's own voice of his early education, the development of his ideas, and the world's tortuous reception of his ideas.
