Ai is a form of exercising power and a way of seeing, as well as a highly organized manifestation of capital, and AI is entirely dependent on a broader set of political and social structures. Microsoft Research Fellow, co-founder of the AI Now Institute at New York University, Research professor at the University of Southern California at Annenberg, and currently a visiting professor at Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris.
Her research focuses on understanding machine learning and artificial intelligence in broader historical, political, labor, and environmental contexts. His book, Beyond Technology, explains the challenges and dangers of the current use and development of AI, reveals the costs, operational logic, and consequences of AI in the real world, and debunks the myth that AI is "technology neutral."
