《考古学和科技史》【内容简介】
本书收录夏鼐科技史与考古学相关文章十六篇，含插图一百余幅，原由作者亲自编定，中国社科院考古研究所王世民研究员增补。本书结合考古新资料以研究中国科技史中的某些问题，范围涉及天文学、数学、纺织学、冶金学等方面的历史。不仅利用考古学方面的新发现，并且引用许多文献，相互参证，阐明我国古代科学技术上一些光辉的成就，同时也纠正了中国科技史上某些错误的说法，使我们关于中国人民对世界文明所做的重要贡献，有了更加准确的认识。

作者简介
夏鼐，1910—1985年，浙江温州人。著名考古学家，新中国考古学和埃及学的奠基人之一。先后毕业于清华大学、伦敦大学学院，埃及考古学博士。中国科学院哲学社会学部委员、英国学术院通讯院士、德意志考古研究院通讯院士、瑞典皇家文学历史考古科学院外籍院士、美国全国科学院外籍院士、意大利中东和远东研究院通讯院士、第三世界科学院院士。
History of Archaeology and Science and Technology
This book includes sixteen articles related to the history of science and archaeology by Xia Nai, including more than one hundred illustrations, originally compiled by the author and supplemented by researcher Wang Shimin of the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. This book combines new archaeological data to study certain issues in the history of Chinese science and technology, ranging from the history of astronomy, mathematics, textiles, metallurgy, etc. It not only makes use of new discoveries in archaeology, but also cites many documents and references to each other to clarify some glorious achievements in ancient science and technology in China, but also corrects some erroneous statements in the history of Chinese science and technology, so that we can have a more accurate understanding of the important contributions made by the Chinese people to world civilization.

About the author
Xia Nai, 1910-1985, born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He is a famous archaeologist and one of the founders of New China's archaeology and Egyptology. He received his PhD in Egyptian archaeology from Tsinghua University and University College London. Member of the Faculty of Philosophy and Society of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Corresponding member of the British Academy, corresponding member of the German Institute of Archaeology, foreign member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Literary History and Archaeology, foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States, corresponding member of the Italian Institute of Middle and Far East Studies, member of the Third World Academy of Sciences.
