《赤脚医生与中国乡村的现代医学》内容简介
1968年，在“把医疗卫生的重点放到农村去”的伟大号召下，不但大批城镇医院的医生“下放”到农村，而且由上海近郊川沙县开始，被称作“我伲贫下中农自己的医生”的“赤脚医生”也在某种程度上缓解了落后乡村缺医少药的窘况，开启了中西医结合的尝试，建立了以社队为基础的“合作医疗制度”，也创造了当代华佗孙立哲们的“神话”。事实上，赤脚医生还与社队干部、民办教师、农技员和大小队会计一起，构成了与道地的“泥腿子”们相对应的某种准知识、技术或管理阶层。本书通过口述访谈和文字档案还原了特殊时空背景下医患群体的集体记忆，也使中国医疗制度史的叙事更加全面。

方小平，现为澳大利亚莫纳什大学文学院副教授。研究兴趣为中国医疗、卫生和疾病史以及当代中国社会政治史。学术论文发表在TheChinaQuarterly，ModernChina，MedicalHistory，和ModernAsianStudies等期刊。
"Barefoot Doctor and Modern Medicine in Rural China"
In 1968, under the great call of "putting the focus of medical and health care in the countryside", not only a large number of doctors in urban hospitals "decentralized" to the countryside, but also from Chuansha County, a suburb of Shanghai, the "barefoot doctor", known as "We the poor and lower middle farmers' doctor", also alleviated the embarrassment of the lack of doctors and medicines in backward villages to some extent, and opened the attempt to integrate traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It established the "cooperative medical system" based on the community and team, and also created the "myth" of contemporary Hua Tuo and Sun Lizhe. In fact, the barefoot doctor, together with the cadres of the community, the private teachers, the agricultural technicians and the accountants of the small and medium-sized teams, constitute some quasi-knowledge, technical or management level corresponding to the honest "clay legs". Through oral interviews and written archives, the book restores the collective memory of doctors and patients in a special time and space background, and also makes the narrative of the history of China's medical system more comprehensive.
About the author
Fang Xiaoping is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts, Monash University, Australia. His research interests include the history of Chinese medicine, hygiene and disease, and the social and political history of contemporary China. Academic papers have been published in journals such as Thechinia Quarterly, ModernChina, MedicalHistory, and Moderate Nasian Studies.
