MarciaBjornerud is a professor of Earth sciences and the environment at Lawrence University. She is a structural geologist with a focus on seismic physics and orogeny. The author of "reading rocks: earth's autobiography (ReadingtheRocks: TheAutobiographyoftheEarth), geological dictionary (Geopedia) and refer to rock: Find the subtle wisdom of the rock "(TurningtoStone: DiscoveringtheSubtleWisdomofRocks). Vertical Time won the 2019 Association of American Publishers' Professional and Academic Excellence Award in Popular Science and Mathematics.
