Children of the Great Depression

What did it mean to be a child in the 1930s, when the American economy collapsed and the Great Depression hit? Crisis, crisis, why do some children feel more "crisis" and some children seize the "opportunity"?

Professor Glenn H. Elder, the great master of sociology

Nearly 40 years of in-depth tracking of 167 children from different backgrounds

First look at the life of a child born during the Great Depression

Professor Elder divided 167 children from the working class and the middle class into four groups according to their family's economic impairment or non-impairment. How are these children's independence, self-esteem, social ability, ambition, maturity, responsibility, financial ability, education level, career, money outlook, lifestyle, marriage outlook, family outlook, parenting outlook, happiness, etc.? What are the differences between groups?
