Evolution and Ethical Life
The book won the Association of American Publishers Professional and Academic Excellence Award in Philosophy (PROSE Award).
Ethics pervades human society and almost all people's lives. Ethics emerged as a beautiful human phenomenon - forever unfinished, collectively refined and twisted from generation to generation. Kitcher argues that our human values cannot be understood as a final system, but rather as a project-an ethical project-in which our species has been engaged for most of its history, which is at the core of who we are, and which has occupied the 50,000 years of our lives that make us human.
