过去，日本凡有狐狸栖居的地方，必然流传着许多“狐狸骗人”的故事。除了狐狸，偶尔也会出现狸猫、貉、黄鼠狼等戏弄人的逸话。然而以1965年为界，此类故事突然在全国上下销声匿迹了。这是为什么呢？
当然很多人会问：“人被狐狸骗的故事都是真的吗？”而我的回答是，这些故事是否属实并不重要，唯有探寻“人为何不再被狐狸骗了”，才能得知更多真相。
日本人会被狐狸骗的时代究竟是什么样的？那时的人拥有怎样的精神世界，又是如何在与自然的交流中度日？当身处现代的我们使用“被狐狸骗”一词来形容人的精神世界时，只会让人觉得怪异。但过去的人生活在与现代完全迥异的精神世界里。对他们而言，那是亲身体验、真切感受到的历史。在不断拷问“为何不再被狐狸骗了”的过程中，必然要涉及往日的自然与人类的历史、村落的历史、人与自然的交流史，并深入民众的精神史。由此，必须从一般的历史学出发，重新捕捉那些“看不见的历史”。
1965年左右发生的自然与人类的革命究竟是什么？而这个问题的答案，也许会告诉我们某段历史的真相。

哲学研究者。1950年生于东京。都立新宿高中毕业。日常在东京和群马县上野村之间往返居住，曾执教于立教大学与东京大学。主要著作有《通往森林之道》、《货币的思想史》、《“里”的思想》、《修验道，一种生活方式》（合著）（以上为新潮社）、《战争这一工作》（信浓每日新闻社）、《哲学的冒险》（平凡社）、《生命的场所》（岩波书店）和《内山节著作集》（全15卷，农文协）等。

When we use the term "cheated by the fox" to describe people's spiritual world, it just seems weird. But people in the past lived in a completely different spiritual world than they do today. For them, it is a history that is experienced and felt. In the process of constantly questioning "why no longer be cheated by the fox", it is inevitable to involve the history of nature and human beings in the past, the history of the village, the history of the exchange between man and nature, and the spiritual history of the people. Therefore, it is necessary to re-capture the "invisible history" from the general history.
What was the natural and human revolution that took place around 1965? And the answer to that question may tell us something about history.
