Brief introduction to the Future of Work

Working passionately in a multi-stage career and living an interesting life outside of work is a change that more and more people are seeing in the age of longevity.

Before the epidemic, the old work inertia accumulated many problems, such as long commutes, heavy meetings, unable to spend time with family... After the epidemic, the big social environment has changed, digital technology enables flexible working, and work and life are faced with diversified choices. How to adapt quickly to trends and achieve satisfactory results while working flexibly is yet to be redefined.

This is the new observation of the author of the best-selling book "100 Years of Life" and "Long Life" after the epidemic. She launched the Future of Work Alliance, which brings together more than 90 companies around the world to discuss how to design the future of work. In this book, she uses four steps to build a concise framework for managers to design better organizations with less cost, so that employees can work as if they were sitting right in front of them. Her goal is to help workers be flexible and productive, with work-life balance; At the same time, it can also enable enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency, achieve lean management, and get satisfactory results.

The four steps to redesigning a job include: understanding the important issues, reimagining the work scenario, designing and testing the work model, putting it into action and creating it. The book systematically analyzes the pros and cons of hybrid working during the pandemic, seeing both the potential of digital skills and the importance of real connections among people in the workplace. This breaks the management model of infinitely splitting granularity and making work more and more mechanized, and answers the connotation of future work flexibility from the underlying logic.
