　　巫鸿，艺术史家、艺评家、策展人。1968、1980年获得中央美术学院美术史系学士、硕士学位，1987年获得哈佛大学艺术史与人类学专业博士学位。今为芝加哥大学艺术史系及东亚语言文明系“斯德本特殊贡献”讲座教授，东亚艺术中心主任，美国艺术与科学学院院士，美国哲学学院院士。2008年，获美国大学艺术学会艺术史教学特殊贡献奖；2018年，获选为美国大学艺术学会杰出学者；2019年，获选为美国国家美术馆梅隆讲座学者和哈佛大学荣誉艺术博士；2022年，获美国大学艺术学会艺术写作杰出终身成就奖。

Taking 12 groups and hundreds of ancient and modern works of art as examples, Mr. Wu Hong elaborated and demonstrated the meaning and operation of visual analysis, demonstrating that "wandering, encountering, perceiving" is a way of thinking and talking about art, and an effective way to find occasions and opportunities for convergence between different artistic traditions. No art history expertise is required to read this book - anyone who has an interest in images and is willing to use their eyes is its intended audience. About the author

Wu Hong is an art historian, art critic and curator. He received his bachelor's degree and master's degree from the Department of Art History of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1968 and 1980, and his doctorate degree in Art History and Anthropology from Harvard University in 1987. He is currently the Steburne Special Contribution Professor in the Department of Art History and the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago, the director of the Center for East Asian Art, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a fellow of the American Academy of Philosophy. In 2008, he was awarded the Special Contribution Award for Art History teaching by the American University Art Society. In 2018, he was selected as a Distinguished Scholar of the American University Art Society; In 2019, he was selected as a Merlin Chair Scholar of the National Gallery of Art and an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts of Harvard University. In 2022, he received the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award in Art Writing from the American University Arts Society.
