Northern Irish writer and journalist. He worked for BBC Belfast on a number of important current affairs programmes. His articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Village Voice, The Washington Post, The Irish Echo, among others. He is the author of four novels and seven non-fiction works dealing mainly with political and cultural life in Northern Ireland. A Brief History of Misogyny was his last work.
