《帝国的想象》内容简介

　　19世纪可以说是帝国的世纪，很多个横跨多个大洲的大型殖民帝国得以构建，洲际贸易和人口流动蓬勃展开，这一时期的思潮与知识谱系也围绕帝国生成新的话语和知识体系，有些也成为影响现代社会构成理论的源头。梁展的这几篇论文正是讨论文明、族群的生成和共同体的构建这些帝国体系的基础理论，厘清这些理论的生成和发展，洞察它们殖民话语服务的局限性。

　　伴随第一次世界大战的结束，自17、18世纪开启的民族主义浪潮迅速席卷了欧、亚、非和南美洲大陆，帝国的崩解与民族-国家的建构过程齐头并进，势如破竹，直至20世纪90年代初方才显出颓势。然而，与其说20世纪是所谓民族-国家的世纪，不如说是帝国与民族-国家相互纠缠的历史。本书从全球史的视野出发，选取了发生在这一漫长的历史过程中的几桩案例，采用理论与历史相结合的方法，揭示了构成当今流行的民族主义与帝国理论的诸多复杂的文学想象因素，以及隐藏在这些理论论述背后的、浓厚的殖民主义和自由帝国主义色彩。

An introduction to the Imperial Imagination

The 19th century can be said to be the century of empires, with the construction of many large-scale colonial empires across multiple continents, the flourishing of intercontinental trade and population flows, and the ideological trends and intellectual pedigrees of this period also generated new discourses and knowledge systems around empires, some of which have also become the source of influence on the theory of the formation of modern society. These papers of Liang Zhan discuss the basic theories of the imperial system of civilization, ethnic formation and community construction, clarify the formation and development of these theories, and gain insight into the limitations of their colonial discourse service.

With the end of the First World War, the wave of nationalism that began in the 17th and 18th centuries rapidly swept across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America, and the disintegration of empires went hand in hand with the nation-state building process until the early 1990s. However, the 20th century is not so much the century of the so-called nation-state as the history of the intertwine of empire and nation-state. From the perspective of global history, this book selects several cases that occurred in this long historical process, and uses the method of combining theory and history to reveal many complex literary imagination factors that make up the popular nationalism and empire theories today, as well as the strong colonialist and liberal imperialism colors hidden behind these theoretical discussions.

Liang Zhan is a researcher and professor at the Institute of Foreign Literature, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is the author of Subversion and Survival: German Thought and the Formation of Lu Xun's Early Self-Concept, Philosophy in the Modern World (Oxford History of Western Philosophy, Vol. 4), The Angel of History: Shoreham, Benjamin and Rosenzweig, and the editor of Discourse on Globalization.
