《安居长城》内容简介
本书是一部中国乡村建筑改造作品集，也是一个美国人饱含深情的“中国梦”。
萨洋来到中国已有近四十年，自2005年辞掉工作、举家搬到慕田峪村，安居长城已近二十年。自年轻时起，他就对建筑设计十分感兴趣。从自家小院开始，他开启了建筑改造实践，如今已为世界各地的客户建造、改造了数十所建筑。他的改造其注重对老房子结构的保护，同时又增加了内部装饰的现代感和便利性，受到了众多居住者的关注与喜爱。他的建筑改造实践，也使当地村民的收入得到了提升，带动了当地经济的发展。
本书精选了萨洋多年来的建筑改造作品，内容涉及建筑改造理念、传统结构处理、院落景观设计等，还包含了萨洋多年来与中国乡村及村民的动人故事。
他说，中国约有70万个乡村，希望他的故事，能让更多中国乡村在保留原有建筑的基础上焕发新的活力，而不是单纯地拆除与改建。让村民留在自己世代居住的土地上，同时过上更加舒适的生活。
作者简介
萨洋（JimSpear）
定居中国近四十年的美国人，深入中国乡村建设的建筑师。
萨洋毕业于加州大学伯克利分校，能说一口流利的汉语。在中国经商近二十年后，他与妻子于2005年搬进了位于慕田峪长城脚下的度假居所。萨洋对这处居所进行了扩建和升级，将其变成四季皆宜的休憩之所。萨洋把对建筑设计和乡村老房子改造的热情发展为一项事业，如今他已经为来自世界各地的客户建了数十所住宅，改造中国乡村住宅建筑数十所。
其建筑改造成果在《建筑文摘》《世界建筑》等中国及世界主流出版物中均有报道。他的故事曾被新华社、央视国际频道、央视频、凤凰卫视、中国网、《北京周报》等媒体报道。
2014年，北京市政府认可萨洋为中国做出的贡献，授予萨洋“长城友谊奖”。
2015年，在杭州（国际）乡村旅游休闲论坛上，萨洋与合伙人（妻子）唐亮被选为“中国乡村旅游年度人物”。
2018年，萨洋的“百里乡居”项目获得ArchitizerA+（酒店和度假村）国际设计大奖，“瓦厂”酒店被评选为全国首家“中国乡村遗产酒店”。
2020年，北京市文化和旅游局授予萨洋“长城好汉”称号。

Sayan has been in China for nearly four decades, leaving his job in 2005 and moving his family to the village of Mutianyu to live on the Great Wall for nearly two decades. An American who has settled in China for nearly four decades, he is the architect of deep rural construction in China.
Sayan is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and speaks fluent Chinese. After nearly two decades of doing business in China, he and his wife moved into a holiday home at the foot of the Great Wall at Mutianyu in 2005. Sayan expanded and upgraded the residence, turning it into a year-round retreat. Sayang turned his passion for architectural design and the renovation of old rural houses into a career, and today he has built dozens of homes for clients from all over the world and transformed dozens of rural residential buildings in China.
The results of its architectural transformation have been reported in mainstream publications in China and the world, such as Architectural Digest and World Architecture. His story has been reported by Xinhua News Agency, CCTV International Channel, CCTV Frequency, Phoenix TV, China.org.cn, Beijing Review and other media.
In 2014, the Beijing Municipal Government recognized his contribution to China and awarded him the Great Wall Friendship Award.
In 2015, at the Hangzhou (International) Rural Tourism and Leisure Forum, Sayang and his partner (wife) Tang Liang were selected as "Chinese Rural Tourism Person of the Year".
In 2018, Sayan's "Hundred Mile Village Residence" project won the ArchitizerA+ (Hotels and Resorts) International Design Award, and "Tile Factory" hotel was selected as the first "Chinese Rural Heritage Hotel" in China.
In 2020, the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau awarded Sayan the title of "Hero of the Great Wall".
