About the author

Gregory S. Paul, scholar and artist. He was the lead dinosaur restorer for many films and documentaries, including Jurassic Park, restoring a "new image" of Mesozoic life. Paul is the author of "The World of Predatory Dinosaurs," "Dinosaurs in Scientific American Books," and "Flying Dragons in the Sky." His work has also appeared in Scientific American, Nature, The New York Times and many other publications.

Xing Lida, a young paleontologist, is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Earth Sciences and Resources, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and an explorer sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The discovery of the world's first dinosaur in amber in 2016 was one of the world's most media focused scientific discoveries of the year. In 2017, he won the 16th Youth Geological Science and Technology Award of the Geological Society of China - Silver Hammer Award. Awarded the James Lee Wilson Award by the American Association of Sedimentary Geology in 2020.
