　　吕迪格尔·萨弗兰斯基，德国当代著名思想史作家、传记作家。曾在法兰克福大学师从阿多诺学习哲学，并在柏林自由大学取得博士学位。自1987年开始自由撰稿，因所著叔本华、海德格尔、尼采、席勒等德国重要思想家的传记，名噪文坛。他的作品已被翻译成二十多种语言，并获奖无数，包括2005年莱比锡书展非虚构图书奖、2005年世界文学奖、2009年克林纳国际图书奖之终身成就奖等。已出版的中文版作品有：《来自德国的大师》《尼采思想传记》《海德格尔传》《叔本华及哲学的狂野年代》《歌德与席勒》《荣耀与丑闻》等。

Introduction to Holderlin Biography

Friedrich Holderlin (1770-1843), a genius at the interplay of philosophical, religious, and poetic forces, a loner who could not find a foothold in life. As a poet, translator, philosopher, tutor, and revolutionary, Holderlin lived his life in an atmosphere of personal and political tension. Under various pressures, he eventually suffered a nervous breakdown and spent the rest of his life in a tower in Tubingen. It was not until the 20th century that the true meaning of his life and philosophy was discovered through the re-interpretation of his thoughts by later philosophers and poets, and he became a myth in the German ideological circle.

2023 marks the 180th anniversary of Holderlin's death. Savranski, a famous German biographer, reproduces the life of this lonely poet with delicate brushstrokes. About the author

Rudiger Safranski is a famous contemporary German intellectual history writer and biographer. He studied philosophy under Adorno at the University of Frankfurt and received his doctorate at the Free University of Berlin. Since 1987, he has been a freelance writer and has become famous in the literary world for his biographies of important German thinkers such as Schopenhauer, Heidegger, Nietzsche and Schiller. His works have been translated into more than twenty languages and he has received numerous awards, including the 2005 Leipzig Book Fair Non-Fiction Book Award, the 2005 World Literature Award, and the 2009 Klingner International Book Award for Lifetime Achievement. His published works in Chinese include: The Master from Germany, Biography of Nietzsche, Biography of Heidegger, Schopenhauer and the Wild Age of Philosophy, Goethe and Schiller, Glory and Scandal, etc.

Translator's introduction

He Jun, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Director of German Department, School of Foreign Languages, Southwest Jiaotong University. He has presided over a Chinese Academic Foreign translation project of the National Social Science Foundation and a Humanities and Social science research project of the Ministry of Education. He has published one German monograph and four translated works (World War II, American History, Japanese Present World Phase, Character), and dozens of academic papers in domestic and foreign journals.
