　　本书是小松左京本人在晚年撰写的一部自传。在书中，小松左京以幽默而亲切的口吻讲述了自己如何邂逅科幻、如何走上科幻作家的道路，向读者展现了自己与科幻密不可分的、充满戏剧性的一生，让读者得以从独特的视角去审视一个科幻巨星的其人其作。书中还穿插了许多小松左京对科幻、对宇宙、对文明的思考及见解,其思想的深度展露无遗。

　　小松左京（1931年1月28日——2011年7月）男，生于大阪，本名小松实，是日本著名的科幻小说家，同时也是随笔家、采访记者兼剧作家；1962年他在《SF杂志》发表《易仙回乡记》，从此走上创作道路。1966年发表的《在无尽长河的尽头》，使小松左京一举成名。1973年出版的《日本沉没》，创下了上、下集400万册的销售记录，成为当年日本第一畅销书(后又由东宝公司拍成电影)，并于翌年荣获第27届日本推理作家协会奖和第5届日本科幻文学星云奖。1985年，他以小说《首都消失》获第6届日本科幻小说大奖。小松左京与星新一、筒井康隆一起被誉为日本SF界的“御三家”（三大名家），1993年日本群马县的业余天文爱好者发现的小行星便以小松左京的名字命名。

This book is an autobiography written by Komatsu himself in his later years. In the book, Komatsu tells the story of how he encountered science fiction and how he became a science fiction writer in a humorous and friendly tone, showing the reader his life which is inseparable from science fiction and full of drama, allowing the reader to examine the person and work of a science fiction star from a unique perspective. The book also intersperses many Komatsu Satokyo's thoughts and opinions on science fiction, the universe, and civilization, revealing the depth of his thoughts.

About the author

Sakyo Komatsu (January 28, 1931 -- July 2011), born Minoru Komatsu in Osaka, was a Japanese science fiction writer, essayist, journalist, and playwright. In 1962, he published "Yi Xian's Return to His Hometown" in SF Magazine, and began to create. "At the End of the Endless River," published in 1966, made Sakyo Komatsu famous. Japan Sinking, published in 1973, sold a record 4 million copies, became the No. 1 bestseller in Japan that year (it was later made into a film by Toho Company), and won the 27th Mystery Writers Association of Japan Award and the 5th Nebula Award for Japanese Science Fiction Literature the following year. In 1985, he won the 6th Japan Science Fiction Award for his novel The Capital Disappears. Together with Hoshi Shinichi and Yasutaka Tsutsui, Komatsu is known as one of the "three great masters" of the Japanese SF community, and an asteroid discovered by amateur astronomers in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, in 1993 was named after Komatsu.
