《诸王的欧洲》内容简介

　　本书是一部欧洲宫廷权贵争权夺利的斗争史，也是一部近代早期欧洲政治发展演变史。作者选取了20个分布于17—18世纪的历史“瞬间”，观察隶属于这些“瞬间”的人生历程如何相互交织，将一个几乎被遗忘的世界娓娓道来。

　　大家族中世世代代反复出现的名字，出生在权力网络中的精英、周旋于由男性主导的权力世界中的宫廷女性……这些围绕着国王、未能名留青史的“小人物”演绎着权力的行使方式，他们有意无意之间参与或推动了重大历史事件，塑造了我们今日所见的历史。有鉴于此，作者抛弃了宏大的历史叙事，从历史中的“小人物”着眼，聚焦欧洲诸王的宫廷生活，用历史中众多非高光人物串联起了1642—1799年这一个半世纪的欧洲历史，在不断推进的精彩叙事中将登场人物连成了一张欧洲精英社会的人物关系网，并通过爬梳当时欧洲诸王与宫廷贵族的行事轨迹，展现仍在王权治下的欧洲的政治交锋与权力博弈。

　　作者简介

　　莱昂哈德·豪洛夫斯基（LeonhardHorowski，1972—），先后在德国柏林自由大学和英国杜勒姆大学研读历史、英语语言文学和政治学。以凡尔赛宫作为研究课题取得博士学位。目前从事“勃兰登堡普鲁士时期内阁”方向的教学和研究，还兼任历史顾问，同时从事外交官进修培养工作。著作包括《女性的秘密权力》（2005）和《德国人》（2010）。

A brief introduction to the Europe of Kings

This book is a history of the struggle of the European court dignitaries for power and profit, and also a history of the political development and evolution of early modern Europe. The author selects 20 historical "moments" distributed in the 17th and 18th centuries, and observes how the life course of these "moments" interwoven, and tells the story of an almost forgotten world.

Recurring names in extended families for generations, elites born into power networks, court women navigating a male-dominated world of power... The "little people" who surrounded the king and did not go down in history interpreted the exercise of power, and they participated in or contributed, consciously or unconsciously, to the major historical events that shaped the history we see today. In view of this, the author abandoned the grand historical narrative, focused on the court life of the European Kings from the perspective of the "small people" in history, connected the European history of 1642 to 1799 with many non-highlight figures in the history, and connected the characters into a network of figures in the European elite society in the continuous progress of the wonderful narrative. It also shows the political confrontation and power game in Europe still under the rule of Kings by combing the tracks of European Kings and court aristocrats at that time.

About the author

LeonhardHorowski (1972 -) studied history, English language and literature and political science at the Free University of Berlin in Germany and Durham University in the United Kingdom. He studied Versailles for his PhD. At present, he is engaged in teaching and research in the direction of "Brandenburg Prussian Cabinet", as well as serving as a historical consultant, and also engaged in the training of diplomats. His books include The Secret Power of Women (2005) and The Germans (2010).
