　　《中国建筑史》是di一部由中国人自己编写的公正权威的中国建筑史，是建筑学科的开山之作。全书共八章，从上古到清末民初分期阐明中国建筑在不同时代的特征，对每一时期的现存建筑实物逐一剖析，解说每个建筑形制的特征及传承关系，涵盖木构、砖石、桥梁、牌坊、宫殿、苑囿、寺庙坛观、陵墓、住宅等。对各个系统建筑自身之优劣，各民族与中国情况之异同，都有述及。

　　这部《中国建筑史》完成于1944年，当时却没有出版条件。五十年代初作为讲义，出版了若干油印本，限于条件，没有印插图。本次出版即以油印本为底本，参考后续出版的各本修订了部分笔误，并增补了书中提及的相关图片，以期最大限度呈现梁先生本意。

　　作者简介

　　梁思成（1901—1972），中国建筑史学家、建筑师、城市规划师和教育家，一生致力于保护中国古代建筑和文化遗产。曾任中央研究院院士、中国科学院哲学社会科学学部委员。曾参加主持中华人民共和国国徽及人民英雄纪念碑的设计。著有《中国建筑史》《中国雕塑史》《营造法式注释》等作品。

Content introduction

The History of Chinese Architecture is a fair and authoritative history of Chinese architecture written by the Chinese people themselves, and is the founding work of the architectural discipline. The book consists of eight chapters, from ancient times to the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, explaining the characteristics of Chinese architecture in different times, analyzing the existing architectural objects in each period one by one, explaining the characteristics of each architectural form and inheritance relationship, including wood, brick, bridge, archway, palace, garden, temple altar, mausoleum, residence, etc. The advantages and disadvantages of each system building and the similarities and differences between each nation and China are discussed.

This "History of Chinese Architecture" was completed in 1944, but at that time there were no conditions for publication. In the early 1950s, as a handout, several mimeographs were published, with limited conditions and no illustrations. This publication is based on the mimeograph version, with reference to subsequent publications, some of the clerical errors have been revised, and the relevant pictures mentioned in the book have been added, in order to maximize the representation of Mr. Liang's original intention.

About the author

Liang Sicheng (1901-1972) was a Chinese architectural historian, architect, urban planner and educator who devoted his life to the preservation of ancient Chinese architecture and cultural heritage. He was an academician of Academia Sinica and a member of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He participated in the design of the National emblem of the People's Republic of China and the Monument to the People's Heroes. He is the author of "History of Chinese Architecture", "History of Chinese Sculpture" and "Notes on Building French Style".
