Content introduction
Money is a product of the human mind, which invented it to thank nature for its abundance, to promote human communication, and to replace barter as a primitive form of exchange. Since then, human society has given birth to countless forms of money: from dog and dolphin teeth to metal coins and paper bills, to digital currencies represented by Bitcoin - the limits of money form are the limits of human imagination. However, with the development of society, the form of money becomes more and more abstract, our understanding of money is more and more solidified, and the secret that money has existed since its birth is further and further away.
In The Secrets of Money, Ted Crawford uses a wealth of legends and myths from around the world about the origins of money - King Midas who "turns everything into gold," the fisherman who refuses to share his catch, Scrooge the miser who is imprisoned by money, the hunter who spreads debt to Ashanti, the symbolism of the bulls and bears of Wall Street - to reveal the secrets of money: Money symbolizes the richness of our inner world and can be used for spiritual circulation in addition to secular purposes. This kind of spiritual circulation builds the circulation and connection between people and their own spiritual world, between individuals and families, between individuals and society, so that we can touch the "wealth" in our hearts.
This is a must-read that dispels the consumerist illusion of money and reshapes our understanding of money and other concepts such as wealth, debt, happiness, greed, and charity.
