　　吕西安•热法尼翁（1921—2011），法国哲学家，大学荣誉退休教授，雅典科学院院士。一生著述颇丰，写下了《在帝制时代生活与和研究哲学》（VivreetphilosophersouslesCésars）、《思想史》（Histoiredelapensée）、《背教者尤利安》（Julienditl’Apostat）、《古代罗马史》（HistoiredelaRomeantique）、《众神从未远离》（Lesdieuxnesontjamaisloin）、《刀剑与语词》（Lesarmesetlesmots）等22部著作。七星丛书版圣奥古斯丁作品集亦是在他的指导下完成了编订。

"Know Yourself" [Content introduction] This book is one of the "light and heavy" series of translations. "Know thyself" is one of the three proverbs inscribed in the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, Greece, and the most famous of them all. This book is written by Lucien. Gefannon is a famous French historian of philosophy and an expert in the study of ancient Greek and Roman thought. About the author:

Lucien Gephanion (1921-2011) was a French philosopher, professor emeritus of the University of Athens and member of the Academy of Sciences. He wrote a lot in his life, Wrote "in the imperial age and study philosophy and life (VivreetphilosophersouslesCesars)," the history of ideas "(Histoiredelapensee), the person that apostasy uilleann (Julienditl 'Apostat), the history of ancient Rome (Histo iredelaRomeantique, "The Gods are Never far away" (Lesdieuxnesontjamaisloin), "Swords and Words" (Lesarmesetlesmots) and other 22 works. The seven-star edition of St. Augustine's Works was also compiled under his guidance.
