Ayn Rand (1905-1982) was a Russian-born American novelist and philosopher in the 20th century. His philosophical theories and novels pioneered the objectivist philosophical movement, including The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. The Fountainhead became an instant bestseller when it was published in 1943 and gained Ayn Rand immense fame, with more than 100,000 copies still being reprinted every year.
