　　齐格蒙特•鲍曼（ZygmuntBauman,1925—2017年）

　　当代极具影响力的思想家，被誉为“当今用英文写作的最伟大社会学家”“后现代性预言家”。出生于波兰，曾任华沙大学社会系教授、英国利兹大学终身教授。鲍曼用文字译写世界，一生撰有50多部著作。广为人知的中译著作包括《工作、消费主义和新穷人》《社会学之思》《现代性与大屠杀》等。

In a personalized society, we are all living artists. Whether we know it or not, want it or not, like it or not, it is society's mandate, not our choice. We are expected to use our skills and resources to give life purpose and form, even if we lack the tools and materials needed by artists.

About the author

ZygmuntBauman (1925-2017)

A highly influential thinker of our time, he has been hailed as "the greatest sociologist writing in English today" and "the prophet of postmodernity". Born in Poland, he was a professor of sociology at the University of Warsaw and a tenured professor at the University of Leeds. Bauman translated and wrote about the world and wrote more than 50 books in his lifetime. His well-known Chinese translations include Work, Consumerism, and the New Poor, Sociological Thoughts, and Modernity and the Holocaust.
