　　海因里希•伯尔（1917-1985），德国当代小说家，1972年诺贝尔文学奖获得者，是战后德国最重要、最多产的作家之一。

　　伯尔出生于科隆一个天主教家庭，中学毕业后在波恩一家书店当学徒，1939年入科隆大学学习日耳曼文学和古典哲学，不久即被征召入伍，经历了六年的战争生活。伯尔在战争中多次负伤，并被关入美军战俘营数月，这些经历深刻地影响了他日后的创作。战后，他一边当木匠和统计员，一边继续在科隆大学深造，并开始发表作品。

A brief introduction to the Discredited Katharina Brom

Katharina, a beautiful young housekeeper who makes a decent living by her intelligence and hard work, is accidentally targeted by the media, slanted by the tabloids, her reputation damaged, her privacy revealed, and even her relatives and friends unfortunately harassed. Unable to bear it, she finally raised her pistol and embarked on the road of revenge with violence. First published in 1974, the book has been translated into more than 30 languages and adapted into films and stage plays.

About the author

Heinrich Bohr (1917-1985), a contemporary German novelist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1972, is one of the most important and prolific writers in post-war Germany.

Born into a Catholic family in Cologne, he apprenticed in a bookshop in Bonn after secondary school, and in 1939 enrolled at the University of Cologne to study German literature and classical philosophy, where he was soon called up and spent six years in the war. Burr was wounded several times during the war and spent several months in a U.S. prisoner-of-war camp, an experience that would profoundly influence his later writing. After the war, while working as a carpenter and statistician, he continued his studies at the University of Cologne and began to publish.

Most of Burr's early works took war as the theme, expressing his dislike and hatred of war, such as the Train is on Time, Adam, Where have you been? And a lot of short stories. After the 1950s, his vision expanded to the wider society, depicting all kinds of small people with vivid and detailed brushstrokes, criticizing and exposing social injustice through their encounters and fates, and he has been called "the conscience of German literature". Important works of this period include Silence, The House of No One, The Clown's View, Lenny and Them, The Discredited Katharina Brom, and Under the Protection of the Net.

Burr has received several major awards, including the Bischner Prize and the Nobel Prize, and served as President of PEN International for several years.
