若热·亚马多是巴西经典作家，在世界范围内享有盛名，也是我国迄今为止译介最多的拉美作家，对于巴西身份塑造及巴西形象传播起到了重要作用。本书将亚马多作品放置于巴西历史语境之中，强调其在记录现实的同时，有意识地发掘巴西民俗传统，不断构建起新的巴西文化身份，并以此来应对巴西各阶段的社会需求。
全书分为如下几个部分：

作者简介
樊星，巴西坎皮纳斯州立大学文学博士，现任北京大学外国语学院葡萄牙语专业助理教授，北京大学巴西文化研究中心主任。主要研究领域为巴西文学，在《外国文学评论》等国内外重要期刊上发表论文十余篇，出版译著七部，主持国家社科基金青年项目一项。

Jorge Amado is a Brazilian classic writer, enjoys great fame in the world, and is also the Latin American writer translated most in our country so far, which plays an important role in shaping Brazilian identity and spreading Brazilian image. This book places Yamado's work in the context of Brazilian history, emphasizing that while recording reality, he consciously explores Brazilian folk traditions and constantly constructs a new Brazilian cultural identity in response to the needs of Brazilian society at all stages.
The book is divided into the following parts:
1. Evaluation and literature review of Amado literary circles;
2. Amado's Brazil: "The West" or "Asia, Africa and Latin America";
3. Amado-style mixed girls and Brazilian "racial democracy";
4. Brazilian carnival spirit and Yamado's carnival writing;
5. Yamado's deconstruction and reshaping of "Brazilian identity";
6. Conclusion: Review of Amado's 70-year creation process and the construction of Brazilian national identity.
About the author
Fan Xing, PhD in Literature from the State University of Campinas, Brazil, is currently an assistant professor of Portuguese at the School of Foreign Languages, Peking University, and director of the Center for Brazilian Cultural Studies, Peking University. His main research field is Brazilian literature, and he has published more than 10 papers in Foreign Literature Review and other important domestic and foreign journals, published seven translations, and chaired a youth project of the National Social Science Foundation.
